My husband and I participated in the Sound of Music tour on Sunday February 24, 2008. It was an absolutely wonderful tour! Our guide, Tina, was very friendly and personable. I loved seeing the sights from the movie. But I must say, our favorite part of the tour was taking the mountain road to the "lake district" villages. St. Gilgen was our favorite village. Tina also took us to a small coffee shop in Mondsee for some fantastic pastries. The Sound of Music tour was my very favorite part of our trip to Germany/Austria. We do plan on coming back to Salzburg again.
